Trekking with the stars is as easy as ABC
If you weren’t one of the lucky ticket-holders for 1980s supergroup ABC’s sell-out concert at the Royal Albert Hall you may still have a chance to secure your place alongside lead singer Martin Fry on the charity trek of a life-time.
Tickets were snapped up quickly for the one-off concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday where ABC performed its iconic album, The Lexicon of Love.
But while you may be too late for the concert, national charity Action Medical Research is offering you the chance to join Martin Fry and fellow 1980s’ star Richard Drummie of Go West, in the vast, unspoilt wilderness of Namibia in Africa on a trek to raise money for sick babies and children.
Exposed to the mercy of the elements, Namibia landscapes are a unique mix of deserts, tortured rock, open plains and eerie coastline. This is the last place on earth the Black Rhino roam free and the only home of the desert elephant.

During this amazing seven-day trek, scheduled to take place between 17 and 26 March 2010, participants will witness one of the most inhospitable but truly unbelievable environments on earth. They will enter the oldest desert in the world - the formidable Namib that stretches north-south hugging the infamous Skeleton Coast - and spend nights under the clearest of skies after spectacular sunsets.
To join Martin and Richard on this spectacular challenge or simply to find out more about the trek, visit the Action Medical Research website or contact the charity’s events team on 01403 210406.
